What’s new in October
October has been a transformative month at Beyond, and I wanted to take a moment to share some of the changes I’ve been working on. These updates aren’t just about new features; they’re about aligning the mission even more closely with your needs as Product Managers striving to make the most impactful decisions.

Revamping our landing page and brand positioning
You might have noticed that the Beyond website looks different. That’s because I’ve been evolving the Beyond brand to better focus on what is really important. While opportunity solution trees and continuous discovery practices remain a core part of how Beyond helps to visualize strategy, I now place a stronger emphasis on empowering you to choose the best and most impactful opportunities for the right outcomes.
I’ve had countless conversations with Product Managers who feel the pressure of making the right decisions amidst a sea of possibilities. This shift in Beyond’s positioning is about giving you the confidence and tools to navigate those choices more effectively. Keep an eye out for a detailed blog post coming soon where I’ll delve deeper into this new direction.
Introducing the Beyond Blog
I’ve launched a new blog dedicated to exploring the depths of product management. I’ll be covering high-level topics like Continuous Discovery, Strategy Mapping, Value Creation, and more. Together with the best practitioners in our industry, I’m going to share insights into how some of the best Product Managers in the world think and operate. If you’ve ever wondered how to elevate your product strategy or align your team’s efforts more closely with impactful outcomes, this blog is for you.

KPIs become metrics and standalone elements
One question I’ve been asking myself is: Is Beyond helping you become more metric-driven in a meaningful way? To support this, KPIs changed from being just a part of an outcome to becoming standalone elements. This means you can now connect metrics not only to outcomes but also to experiments and other elements. It gives you a deeper understanding of what’s contributing to each metric’s improvement, enabling more informed and confident decision-making.
Connecting elements outside of trees
I’ve heard from many of you that not all connections fit neatly within an opportunity solution tree. Starting this month, you can manage insights, metrics, and other elements outside of the tree builder. This flexibility allows you to organize your strategies and data in a way that makes the most sense for you, without being confined to a specific visualization.
Dedicated detail pages for each element
I know how distracting it can be to juggle multiple elements within a crowded interface. That’s why each element now features its own dedicated detail page. This change is about helping you focus, minimizing distractions so you can refine each aspect of your strategy to perfection.
Prioritizing what truly matters
“If everything is important, then nothing is.” I’ve taken this to heart by introducing predefined priority levels tailored to each element type. This helps you focus on what truly matters, ensuring your efforts align with your most critical strategic objectives.
Visualizing connections on database pages
Understanding how everything fits together is crucial for effective strategy. In the database pages, you can now see which elements are connected to a given item. This provides a quick overview, helping you grasp the bigger picture without getting lost in the details.
Personal reflection
These updates are about solving the right problems. Each enhancement is designed to help you navigate the complexities of product management more effectively and become more confident in your work.
As always, your feedback is invaluable. Special thanks this month goes out to Alenka and Bor from SciNote for their invaluable feedback on the beta product.
